Phosphate Biofertilizer BIP2
This technology was established as a result of a research project funded by National Research Council of Iran. Four research teams of 25 researchers and technologists including Microbiologists, Plant Physiologists, Crop Physiologists, Plant Genetics, Soil Biologists, Bioprocess and Industrial Design specialists have actively pursued this project.
BIP-2 phosphate biofertilizer contains two types of phosphate solubilizing bacteria or PSB:
1) Bacterial strain P5 that release phosphate form inorganic compounds by producing organic acids and similar metabolites.
2) Bacterial strain P13 that release phosphate from organic compounds by secreting strong phosphatases enzymes.
In order to find about beneficial and possible deleterious criteria of the bacterial isolates, a series of microbiological and biochemical studies were conduced that led to determination of genus and species names of the isolates.
The next research activity was aimed at designing of preservation formula that allow the survival of bacteria for a long term storage. At the same time, instructions for using this biofertilizers were prepared which were implemented in at least 17 field trials so far. Many experimental fields with traditional and mechanized methods of cultivation have been surveyed in last five years too.
All the production steps upto the packaging are performed in aseptic conditions, free of any contamination. One of the most important features of this product is the use of live bacteria on wet carrier.
For Quality Assurance, all the steps and products are carefully controlled by experienced personnel and computer hardwares and fotwares.
An outstanding feature of the BIP-2 factory is the use of Hi-Tech bioprocesses in mass production lines of this biofertilizer. It is noteworthy that this is one of the most advanced factories in Middle East.
The finished produces are packaged aseptically and released to the market after several quality controls. After sale services and supports as well as post sale monitoring ensure proper utilization of products and farmer satisfaction.
