Pi biofertilizers usually contain efficient phosphate solubilizing bacteria and/or fungi that hydrolyze Pi from inorganic and organic compounds by acidification of soil or secretion of phosphatase enzymes, respectively. The so-called BIP2 Biofertilizers were formulated to have both criteria.
